Shelter & Shade Structure

Rendered final structure as a visual representation of analysis, communication, and information. This design includes curved roofing to allow for more shade and wind protection, with 2 openings cut on either side for sunlight. In the middle is a walkway for pedestrians to stroll or get around while shaded and protected. A perfect spot for studying or lounging, students can interact with each other right in the center of their dorm halls.

Analysis of microclimates through 6 structure iterations. The structure was designed based on wind and sun conditions tested during simulations of all seasons at the site. Used Grasshopper extension for Rhino 6 to simulate.
